QuickTime MOV files with transparent backgrounds

I know it is possible to create WEBM clips with transparent backgrounds using the create clip endpoint here: https://docs.d-id.com/reference/createclip. But it does not seem possible to do this with QuickTime mov files.

I tried setting background to false and output_format to mov but the output video had a green background.

QuickTime mov does support alpha channels and transparency so this should be possible, but are there any plans to add this functionality.

Please consider this a feature request.

Dear User,

Thank you for reaching out.

We want to inform you that currently, we only support the "webm" format through our API for videos with transparent backgrounds. Using our Studio, transparent backgrounds are not supported. If an image with a transparent background is uploaded, it defaults to a white background in the generated video. However, you can change the background to any color of your choice within our Studio or use a third-party tool to remove the background from the video afterward.

For transparent backgrounds via the API, please ensure you are setting the "webm" parameter in your request. For more details on achieving a transparent background using the API, please refer to the documentation here.

We appreciate your feedback and have noted your feature request for QuickTime MOV files with transparency. If you have any further queries, please reach us out at support@d-id.com.

Best Regards,
