difficulty in uploading images to create avatars

Sometimes it is extremely difficult to upload an image. For instance, just now, I uploaded on with little problem, but then when I tried to upload another (wasn't quite satisfied with the first) ... I was half-an-hour fiddling around with your app before I gave up. Not satisfactory!

What are you doing to correct this bug?
